A Wisley Ent

Having worked almost 12hrs over Saturday / Sunday night (unpaid!) last weekend I felt I more than earned an afternoon off, so headed to RHS Wisley for a lunch and a wander round the arboretum. The tree colours seemed to be at their height - I suspect they'll be gone by next week given the weather forecast!

I love the trunk on this specimen. Perhaps it's one of Tolkien's Ents enjoying the last of the warm autumn weather.
