The last gasp

A day spent pottering, food shopping and reading at a suitably slow pace for the last weekday of the holidays. At least the house is looking a bit tidier than when I left it. The pottering was satisfying, the reading less so as I was distinctly disappointed by a writer whose books I have really rated in the past. Never mind, there are plenty more waiting in the pile by the bed. It has also been a very warm day after a wet start so one or two things in the garden are having a last effort, including one of the roses. I think this will be its last so it's here for future, gloomy weather reference.
