Carrer Major Personality I

The 4th

I set out to shoot a new Carrer Major establishment, but as I said in my introduction, I would also include a few of the neighborhood personalities. Today the opportunity came to me.

This is Claudio, and he approached me outside Eva’s shop when he saw my camera. We spoke for almost ten minutes. Well, he took care of at least 90% of the dialogue, and I must have understood close to 5% of what he told me. I’m actually not sure if he spoke Spanish or Catalan. My guess is that Claudio must have had a small stroke that had affected his speech.

In any case, what I did understand, was that he felt that Kodak had screwed up royally after inventing digital photo, while others made all the money. Then I asked if I could take a few pictures. He was delighted, and asked me how he could get his hands on the picture. When I told him that I would leave print with my wife in her shop he really lit up. I wish I had understood more of what he said.
