Fotheringhay

This is a view of the Church of St Mary and All Saints in the Northamptonshire village of Fotheringhay. Although a very beautiful and extremely large Church for usch a small village, it is for the the site of the castle that the village is more well known. The castle at Fotheringhay (now only a grassy mound) is the site of the execution of Mary Queen of Scots on 8th February 1587.
