“ASSUMING you can find one, how much is a Scottish pound note worth? Well, if you live on the other side of the Atlantic, almost a fiver.
A US-based collector recently paid £47 plus postage for 10 crisp Royal Bank of Scotland £1 notes as a brisk international trade in the rarely-seen denomination takes off.”

Does anyone want to make me an offer for this one??
Apparently these are still legal tender in Scotland. They are rarely seen these days but according to the Royal Bank of Scotland there are still 16 million of them in circulation, mostly stuck at the bottom of drawers which is where I recently found this one. I think I’ll hang on to it for a while longer in case the price increases.
Igor just told me that it’s illegal to make any representation of banknotes (as I have here) so I don’t want any of you printing off my pics and trying to spend them OK??
