Old Bugs

I removed a disused screen door frame from the entrance of a house I'm working on. Under the frame and the paint, by the doorbell, I found these larvae. Most of the hidden creatures are not inside the wood, but in a space created by the molded wood that the frame was attached to.

There was so much paint covering up this trove that they certainly predate this blipper, and are perhaps from before WW2. The green color at center is probably the original color of the house, which went up around 1895.

These hermetically sealed buglets were one of the highlights of the day.
