Bill Sewell of @billscafes

A visit to Hereford today, where we went for lunch at in All Saints Church, in the centre of town. Not any ordinary church cafe, but an eating place that shames many a restaurant. The food is all freshly made using local produce and bread baked in the cafe that morning. Yet the meals cost only around 9 quid, and are truly delicious. I can't wait to go back.
We were curious how such a fine cafe, in a 'designer' setting within the still active church, came about. Talk to Bill said the friendly staff, and there was Bill Sewell, who owns the cafes in Hereford and Cambridge. Turns out he's a food writer, and something of a pioneer in top class cafes in churches, as he started out in a London church, then went on to set up the current two. He was happy to chat (despite having his own lunch on the table) and delighted that we enjoyed our food so much.
We sure did Bill!
