Aideen's shelves

I stayed with a friend in London last night who has travelled widely and collects pottery. She also now makes her own pottery and very nice it is too. These are just a few of her shelves and I would not like to be the person who does her dusting!

I came back to Chelts today by train and when the ticket inspector saw my ticket he pointed out I had a "Super off-peak" ticket but was on an "off-peak" train. I have never even heard of "Super off-peak"!! When I bought the ticket (£53.50 return) nothing was said like "you can only get certain trains with this ticket". I had to pay an extra £23.50, £10 of which was a fee for needing to change the type of ticket.

A letter is going to First Great Western about this fee. I can appreciate that I had (unknowingly) got on the wrong train for the fare but the £10 feels punitive to me instead of being the actual cost of issuing another ticket on the train. We shall see how they justify it when I get a response to my letter and I will be more careful in future about checking which trains I can travel on with my ticket. Or I may just take the bus!
