Carrieira del Estela

Or Rue de l'Etoile in French (Star Street). One of the oldest streets in Gabian, in the Pioch, the ancient centre of the village which dates back a thousand years and where there has been some sort of settlement since Roman times.

The municipality has a plan to renovate this part of the village and from what we saw at a meeting the other evening it looks as though it will be tastefully and sensitively done. They will replace the tarmac roads with cobblestones in a colour to match the local stone.
