According to a postcard in the Green Mill (a cafe I am sitting in trying to upload a photo on a wifi network running at 26Mbps), 2.5 million cars crowd the streets of Cairo, consuming a total of 50 millions litres of petrol a day.

Of those 2.5 million, around 60% are over ten years old.

They look it too.

I've heard it said that people here only own the inside of their cars. The rest belongs to Cairo!
