The new Atkinson complex

The new Atkinson complex has opened in Southport, it looks good and is a welcome after being closed for 3 yrs for a major refurb, 'twas much to long and the centre of Southport's Lord st looked a mess because of it. The library, art centre and auditorium has been joined as one complex without altering the exterior of the building but the interior as pictured here looks completely different throughout, the galleries are not open yet, the Bakery cafe has only been open about a week..it's very comfortable, they have also transferred the tourists info centre to the booking offices..I'm sure it's a much more comfortable office for them rather than the huge conservatory style office at Eastbank square that was very cold in the winter and boiling in the summer..they are thinking of having a museum when the galleries are open..I joined the new library a couple of weeks ago..it has everything from dvd's to computers and printers as well as books..looking good. Iv also seen a show at the auditorium Theatre...lovely decor.
