Met George and his pal at Hallhill after school.

Ruaridh announced that he was saving up for a parrot.

Under the rules of dad jokes, this meant I had to say "what's orange, and sounds like a parrot?" Helpfully, some passing kids pointed out that the answer is "a carrot".

Even more helpfully, with the aid of his Skittles, George pointed out that a carrot is orange and green.

A fine bit of hair-splitting, son. That's my boy.
