Megalong Afternoon

Enough of the doom and gloom. Enough of soot, smoke and hysteria. A bit of perspective is overdue. I have it on good authority that the Blue Mountains is still there - right where it always was. The vast majority of it looks just like it always has. It's a big place, when all is said and done.

I drove quietly down into the Megalong Valley today. This picture was shot TODAY of course. Let me repeat. It is the Megalong Valley as it looks TODAY. The media doesn't seem to want you to know that for the vast bulk of the area, life is pretty much normal. The cows graze lazily and the wildflowers bloom. We are going through a worrying time and the tourists have been frightened away but just down here, farmers and workers go about their business. Who'd have thought?
