Autumnal Edinburgh

Edinburgh was looking splendid today under fine blue autumn skies. Trees in Princes' Street gardens are turning to a range of colour although the wind was also doing a fair job of stripping the leaves.
We were in town to take in the Mary,Queen of Scots exhibition at the National Museum and very good it is too: well presented and informative.
This evening we have been to the cinema to see "Captain Phillips', one of the best films I have seen in a while. It is tense and gripping throughout, brilliantly filmed and with a great performance by Tom Hanks in the title role. An Oscar nomination I suspect.
