End of the Growing Season

Outside the farm supply store today I admired the unsold lawn mowers. Next week their parking space will be filled by snowblowers and plows. Signs of the season's end and the next one beginning.
I've seen one of those $5000 front platform models in action. the lawn service that mows the rental property behind mine is truly a scary machine. the driver can barely handle it. We (3 cats and me) close ourselves inside when we hear it running. Takes almost no time to mow a very large property. I think that is not on a future shopping list.
