The Ups and Downs Of Barcelona

In truth, the only 'up and down' today has been ascending to and descending from the 23rd floor of the Torre Catalunya Hotel, near Sants Station to take this shot, a companion piece to yesterday's shot of Cairo from the highest point in that city.

There have been a few additional interesting moments including waking to find a man in our house; Alistair, who checks up on the place when we're away and didn't know I'd be back today! Also, a haircut followed by the 'Wednesday Special', a 15 minute scalp and upper body massage, AND working out a way to measure Yasheen's feet (see yesterday) remotely...I realised Dd's recent photo of him not only includes his feet but he is standing on the standard Cairene small hexagonal paving tile - so if she measures that and we add on a big toe or so, then we've cracked it!

In the shot (best viewed LARGE), you can see, working from the left, the black and white Banco Sabadell/Atlantico HQ on Avda. Diagonal on the 'sixth' line, the Sagrada Familia on the 'third' line, the Agbar Tower (like a gerkin) almost on the 'half' line, and the twin towers at the Olyimpic Port comprising the Mapre HQ and the Hotel des Arts on the 'three-quarter' line....out of shot further to the right is the old port with the W Hotel and cable car towers (for those you know the city). The leafy avenue running towards the Agbar Tower is Avda. Roma which becomes Calle Aragon and bisects Passeig De Gracia.

I've also managed to fix my broken watch strap, which I cannibalised to leave Dd's strap in full working order during her course in Cairo, and have a nice menu del dia lunch before meeting our neighbours to pursue our plans for the street. So all in all a productive few hours.

Must crack on...
