Work Day
My better half behind the camera lens this time. This was a big job I've put off for a while, placing a drainage line behind our barn. Every winter during the rainy season, the back of the barn and inside gets inches of standing water. I have wanted to complete this job for years, so it feels good to have it actually started.
While I have enjoyed every minute of my retirement, I have to state here that my retirement may be different than many. We have ZERO days where we just sit around. If we don't have a big project we're working on, we are either gardening or hiking or doing something very active. Probably 90% of our time we spend working on the farm, and this is just the way we want to spend our remaining days. I like it that at the end of the day, my hand calluses have grown a little bit, my knuckles are skinned and a little dirty, and the barn will probably stay a little drier this winter. It's how we roll.
