Hole In The Ground

The Apollo Moonwalkers practiced here in the Meteor Crater between Winslow and Winona.

Although you can't walk down - R and I walked part of the rim of this crater. The desert was hit by a meteor 50,o0o years ago and the result was this crater - 700ft deep and 4000ft across.

It was a slight detour of Route 66 - but worth it.

We're now in Gallup - and discovered I can take panoramic shots with the camera.
