New Forest
For family day out today we decided on a trip to Stonehenge. Too long a trip to leave the puppies at home so they came too. We stopped off near Portsmouth for a puppy rest stop along cycle route 22. The break in the weather didn't last very long so walk abandoned with hasty jog back to the car. A shame the rain was too heavy for the camera as there were a pair of hawks hovering near the water's edge.
The rain stopped in good time for Stonehenge. We saw the progress on the new visitor centre due to open in December. Four coaches in the car park meant rather a lot of people wandering around. I'm pleased with the photos I took despite the grey skies and poor light.
Hungry bellies led us to a Little Chef. The soundtrack of chirruping birds in the loos was a bit weird. A quick discussion where to go next favoured letting the dogs have an interesting walk as they'd been in the car a long time so off to the New Forest. They seemed to enjoy the springy grass underfoot, rolling in the heather (Grace) and barking at the ponies (Emily).
