The Exciting Derwent

What a difference a few days and a lot of rain makes.
This is the fullest I have seen the river so far. It was pouring over the complete width of the weir at Calver and you could hear it from a long way away.
PS Also saw a mole above ground today - it was desperately trying to climb the kerb and get onto the grass verge. Eventually it succeeded and gratefully disappeared down a hole.
It was moving too frantically to photograph given the very dull light - but what a fascinating and lucky spot.
