Reward
I wrote two midterms today, so as a reward I treated myself to some pumpkin ales.
Also baked chocolate macaroon bars with a shortbread base. Half-way through the recipe, I once again realized that I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT differentiate macaroons and meringues. I may have thought I was making the latter until my recipe presented a noticeable gap: no beating the egg whites until their fluffy.
Macaroon = soft coconut heaven
Meringue = fluffy yet crunchy delight
Oh dear. Maybe I'll remember now.
Nonetheless, the macaroon bars were a hit at our Global Medical Brigades bake sale!
