DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?
There were a couple new visitors in the yard today – but I don’t know what they are. At first I thought it was a male & female of the same species, but the more I look at their characteristics, I don’t think they’re related. This one may be in the sparrow family because of the stripes on his head and overall coloring. (The online bird identifier mentioned the yellow spot in front of the eye as something belonging to the Savannah Sparrow, but the rest of the appearance didn’t quite match.) The other newcomer might be of the wren family because of the little round body with the tail that points up. They’re both ground feeders and didn’t even try the hanging feeder. Does anybody recognize these two little brown birds? As I said before, I've never known much about birds and never had a feeder, so this is all new for me. I need all the help I can get!
