Emirate Old Man

I was lucky enough to be invited by a journalist friend of mine, who is putting together a book of interviews with old-school Emirate people, to photograph her interviewees.

This chap is estimated to be around 95 years old, is mostly blind, hard of hearing, and was a Pearl Fisherman in his day - freediving down to 35m to collect clams. It was hard and dangerous work. He had a great smile and laugh and had bags of charm and character.
