Ferry. Cross The Mersey? Nope. Up The Bosphorus.

Today we have by some miracle managed to meet up with the friends we met cruising last year and will be cruising again with tomorrow. Today is a trial run to get our sea legs by taking the ferry up the Bosphorus. Our plan is to sail to the last stop, get off, have lunch, climb up to the fortress and get the ferry back. Rick Steves assures us that we don't need a guided tour as his book gives almost a building by building account of what we are sailing past. Brilliant!

How did we do? Well we had a years worth of news to catch up on and forgot to look at the scenery. We weren't however too busy to buy local yoghurt from the seller who got on at one of the stops. The yoghurt came with packs of sugar so you could sweeten it to your taste.

BTW Rick, the cruise up the Bosphorus is even better done from the top deck of a cruise ship!
