The Edge of the Wold

A statue of Gus

Here's Gus as a living statue of himself, sat on a plinth on the shore. It was only a few weeks ago that he found he was rewarded with a gravy bone for being persuaded to hop onto the big flat-topped boulder. As a dog who never forgets anything, the next time we walked this way, he hopped up unprompted, and now it's just one of his daily routine of tricks and games on the estuary walk. The boulder is a glacial erratic, dumped here by a melting glacier 10,000 years ago, originating in the Lake District to the north.

It was a very grey day, the sun made a fleeting appearance mid-afternoon, enough to encourage us all in the office that we might enjoy a little sun after work. It wasn't to be, so thank you, Gus, for presenting this blip opportunity in the half-light this afternoon.
