Lower Manhattan

On my first and only full free day in the Big Apple I've been busy! Woke up jetlagged at 5:30am and had breakfast, went to Grand Central station (smaller than I thought) and got the subway to Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 memorial. Then off to Wall St, and back on the subway to the Empire State Building. Lovely view! Wish I could afford to go again at night. Then to Macy's (omg soooo many beautiful shoes) and a long walk up 5th avenue to Central Park before having a wander. Then a nice long wall back to my hotel on Madison. Such a long day with jetlag! I went across the street to a little diner for dinner, and now I'm having a shower and getting into bed.

New York has been good so far but it hadn't quite made me fall in love as I thought it would. I blame it on Sex and the City.
