Sunday Soaking

It rained, not just rain but horizontal driving sheets of it and all the while we, the parents, stood cheering on our sons. It was 'Derby Day', Falmouth Under 13's away at Penryn. This Falmouth side have never lost to Penryn, home or away since they started out playing Tag Rugby at Under 6's and they were determined not to lose today.
Despite the promise by the Penryn coaches of KFC all round if they beat Falmouth and some distinctly unsporting shouting by the same coaches from the touch line Falmouth scored three tries to Penryns one in each half to record a 10-32 victory and maintain their winning run.
It rained, the wind blew and the accompanying thunder and lightening could not dampen the lads spirits.
Elsewhere we 'cashed in' our raffle prize of £50 food and drink voucher at Sailors in Newquay, the food was filling but not spectacular. Coffee and cake at Starbucks on the way home rounded off the day.
