Larig Ghru from Loch Vaa

We were up at the Highland Wolf orienteering, on Speyside, this weekend. There were two races on Saturday. The first, in the morning, at Loch Vaa near Aviemore, on great runnable terrain and the second at Grantown-on-Spey in the afternoon. This was the scene from the parking field in the morning, looking south into the Cairngorms. The trough in the centre is the Larig Ghru, a pass through the hills from Aviemore to Braemar. The hill to the left is Ben Macdui and on the right Braeriach. The colours are great at the moment and the clouds really were atmospheric.
