Conor's Christening
Conor was christened today. It was a day of mixed fortunes. Lots of very dear relatives couldn't make it, in one case unfortunately due to being in hospital. The sun shone in the morning but the heavens opened in the afternoon. And the parish hall where we had the after-party was broken into last night. Thankfully the hall was okay but the bar had been trashed. An act of vandalism that will cost the parish money it can ill afford. But the staff were fantastic and by the time we got in there, everything had been returned to as normal as possible. The christening itself was lovely. Conor was very good (if a bit vocal!) and Orla read out a bidding prayer. She did really well! I did a humungous amount of baking and my mum and sister helped with the buffet. Ed's mum contributed too, the carrot cake in particular drew lots of compliments! It's always nice to spend time in the company of family.
