Georges Lautner

Legendary French film director, 87-year-old Georges Lautner, was guest of honour at today's lunch at the Cognac festival. Director and screenwriter he made dozens of movies with all the top names of French cinema. In a homage to him last night there was a special screening of his cult film "Les Tontons Flingueurs", made in 1963 but digitally remastered. The cinema was absolutely packed out. The festival is now over and we will attend the final dinner tonight, before heading off in the morning to spend Monday night in a château near Limoges.
