More rain clouds

For once we timed our Sunday afternoon walk right and despite the threatening skies the rain fell elsewhere and we were treated to warm sunshine - unsurprisingly we had to wade through alot of mud though.

The ground in the woods was covered with acorns; I've heard it's a mast year, a bumper year for beech, oak, chestnut and other woodland trees, and there was plenty of evidence today. Also a bumper year for squirrels and other creatures too I imagine.
