Colin came to help us out again today. This time we tackled the loft.

New hatch (current one is tiny), more insulation and boarding out. Mostly went without a hitch - I mostly kept out of the way and let the father-son team do their stuff. Is there a link there?

Up in the loft there were hundreds of flies and wasps. That made for a very unpleasant working environment (I imagine!) and they were escaping into the house.

I was on the phone to an environmental health officer (aka Dad!) and google to see if it was anything to worry about too much. Probably cluster flies but can't spray them as there are bats in the area and can't be 100% sure that they aren't in the loft. Eek!

I expected to spend the evening at the in-laws, but it seemed that the flies were at the end of their life so just spent the rest of the night disposing of dead bodies. Lovely!
