St Cuthbet's North Gallery Transept Organ
Woke up late this morning after the Champagne tasting last night.
This weeks blip challenge is on the word ORGAN. I had contacted St Cuthbert’s church at the corner of Lothian Rd earlier in the week. Derrick kindly called me back and allowed me to go to the church this morning to take some photographs of their magnificent organ.
I turned up at the end of the normal service to hear the organ being played. A fantastic thing to hear.
Derrick kindly took me around the organ explaining how it all works and even letting me into the workings of the main organ to see how the pipes are connected.
I took a few pictures of the console and the North Gallery Transept Organ. This I thought was the best of the few that I took. The rest can be seen here. Hoe I made the right choice.
More information on the organ itself is on their website here.
Many thanks to Derrick for his and Dr Jeremy Cull, the organist, time today.
This will be my entry for the challenge this week.
The rest of the day is going to be tidying the house and putting things away from the holiday. I also have a mound of ironing the size of the Matterhorn to get through.
Planning on a stew for tea tonight. With dumplings if I can get around to it.
