Trompe l'oeil

The view from my hotel room window in Lillehammer. A thoughtful touch.

Lillehammer is best known (and best knows itself) for the 1994 Winter Olympics. A more recent, if lesser, claim to fame is as the setting for the TV series Lilyhammer, starring Little Steven of the E Street Band.

Lillehammer also houses the Maihaugen open air museum of Norwegian rural life, a glimpse of which can be seen right of picture (the turf-roofed houses and wooden church).

Things are not always what they seem...
