Rocky and a Stranger

Thanks so much for taking a look and commenting on my 200th blip yesterday!

Today was a beautiful day - 27 degrees and clear skies all day!

I had the task of taking a photo of a complete stranger for blip's "when you're a stranger" project. The camera's been through Croatia, South Africa, Perth - Scotland, Cambridgeshire and Melbourne, where it's getting a double dose!

Having chickened out of a great opportunity yesterday, I decided to take the bull by the horns and get it done as soon as breakfast was over. I put the disposable camera in my pocket, ready for action, with a blip business card. I was paying for breakfast and I saw my chance... the guy who made my coffee was an absolute artist, doing the trademark swirls and patterns with such precision! I hovered over the coffee machine and broke his concentration. "Erm.... I've got a bit of a strange request but...", I started before explaining about the project and where the camera had already been.
Jan (as I found out he is called...) was more than happy for me to take a photo of him, and carried on with his coffees while I framed the shot. I asked him to look up at me and he obliged, I took the shot, thanked him, and off I went!

I've not used a disposable for years, but it had a '400' on it, so I hope that was the film ISO. I was inside, but he was just inside the window, so the light should have been reasonable and I really didn't want to use the flash. I guess that time will tell!!

After that we wandered along the road and found this little guy (Rocky) tied up outside the bakery. He looked really proud, so here he is!

The rest of the day was spent at a barbie at our friends Sairs and Guy's place. They're expecting a new arrival in the next couple of week. It was great to have a catch up and just be outside and able to enjoy the Sun. Miles is still a bit off colour and has once again lost his appetite. We're hoping that he's not going back in for a second round!
Gina had the great idea to move the TV outside this evening and we sat in the garden on beanbags watching Breaking Bad (we've only got the last 2 episodes to go... no spoilers please! They're for tomorrow!) with the fruitbats flying over.

PS. if anyone would like to receive the "when you're a stranger" camera (you get one shot before you need to send it on to another blipper), just leave me a message below.
