London life..

A day off from work and up to London to meet my travel friend Carolyn, unfortunately Fiona couldn't make it as her dad is ill, so just the two "Angels" today.

We had a coffee and then Carolyn told me our first appointment was at 1.30 so we could have a wander through Covent Garden, we got to the main square where the street performers entertain to find a crowd gathering around a big black lorry and some sound checking going on.

We joined the crowd in expectation and some speedy googling led us to discover that Paul McCartney had said that he would be doing an impromptu concert.. we waited patiently and he came out on stage and started playing songs from his new album. We managed to watch one and a half before dashing to the mystery destination - The Waldorf.

We had a very decadent afternoon tea in the Homage room and emerged a couple of hours later and walked across to Southbank for the next mystery.. Sea Life.. a pleasant journey round and then we heade to Las Iguanas for some cocktails.

Final destination was an Italian restaurant near Charing Cross before we went our separate ways.. until tomorrow when Carolyn will be journeying south into Kent for the big bash tomorrow night!

A lovely day arranged by Carolyn and Fi - feeling very spoilt ;o)
