Clean white office space
Walking along London Wall this evening after dark, this new and currently unoccupied office space was well lit and clearly visible through the large plate glass window at the edge of the pavement. The developers clearly want it to look as attractive as possible in the hope of letting it out as soon as possible.
It certainly did look impressive: clean white walls, clean white floor, bright lighting reflecting off the shiny surfaces. However, imagine it once crammed full of desks and people and computer terminals - just like every other office building in London. Then pity the poor people at the far end of the office, far away from natural daylight with just a sea of desks and people between them and the outside world. I find these offices very impersonal. Glad I don't work in them any more.
