Wirral Lifeboat Day
Took the boys down to see Aunty Karen today and wandered down to check out the annual lifeboat day hosted by the RNLI. Having experienced the vulnerability of being out at sea, I was more than happy to spend some of my hard earned on donations to their cause, especially given that it provided some good education and entertainment for the boys. Hovercrafts, helicopters and quad bikes were all on the agenda along with a guided tour of a lifeboat.
The RNLI rely on donations, fundraising and legacies to keep there volunteer emergency force afloat and with estimated daily running costs of £339,000 they rescue 21 people every day. The next time you pass one of their little boat shaped donation boxes make sure you pop in pound, you never know when you might need to rely on their dedication, bravery and commitment.
