The Iron Bridge

Visited one of my grandsons today who lives with his partner in Coalbrookdale whilst completeing his Uni studies. His dad went with me and we had a lovely walk round the surrounding area and a very pleasant lunch. They live in a tiny terraced cottage which reminded me of when my husband and I first married and lived in similar 'cramped' quarters!
The bridge was designed by Thomas Pritchard in 1775 and the construction took place between 1777 and 1779. Unfortunately he died before it was completed.
