Vineyard Posts

There was a nice soft light early this morning. This was before the nor-west wind got up and blew the high clouds away. The Richmond Range was standing out beyond the naked posts in the Meadowbank Vineyard. This is the new 15 acre area that is being developed from scrubby pines to bare land to vineyard. The tiny grape plants are in the ground, the irrigation has been organised and the wooden posts are all in position. The next phase is the fixing of wire from post to post…… hundreds of thousands of metres of wire are required for this. A Nik filter emphasizes the softness of the early morning light.
The dogs thoroughly enjoyed their walk. It was especially fun for Fergus who found something very dead and very smelly on two occasions and rolled around in them. This required him being encouraged to swim in the river several times in order to get rid of the disgusting aroma. Luckily that worked and he did not need bathing when we got home.
