Haltwhistle's Hadrian Singers

This morning was taken up with a haircut, a visit to the bank and a bit of shopping here and there in Hexham.

Home to spend the afternoon looking at the music for tonight's community choir. I stood in for Bridie Jackson who is the regular conductor for the Hadrian Singers. This is a community choir which was formed after we had our first Singing Walk, not many years ago. It was fun to be involved in that first walk.

Bridie recently won the best upcoming artist award at Glastonbury. Standing in for her was quite daunting but I had a very good evening. This group of people are so keen and they worked very hard indeed. What was most impressive was that they didn't talk when I stopped the singing to sort something out. My U3A group used to chatter whenever there was a small gap so this was a refreshing change. It made my job easy.

This is the group at the end of the evening. As you can see, Holy Cross Church in Haltwhistle is currently hosting a small display about the Lindisfarne Gospels.
