Braveheart

Only slightly scarier than the prospect of wee eck becoming King of Scotland is the speaking holographic William Wallace perched on top of a pulpit-esque structure at the Wallace Monument in Stirling.

I drove down to Dundee with the littlest first thing this morning to meet up with the rest of the gang at my mum and dads.

My mum and I then took the kids through to Stirling for a lesson in Scottish history and some exploring at the Wallace Monument (which isn't Historic Scotland or National Trust for Scotland - so much for all those family memberships!).

246 steps to the top, where the wind blew the cobwebs away, and from where we had a cracker of a view of the meandering river Forth.

Back home via a swim at Perth Leisure Pool for me and my two oldest boys, which included a first ever trip on the half-moon flume for the boys and my first shot for near on 20 years.
