My tussies are hurting me, Mommy :-(
Oh my baby girl........ Mommy wants to make it all better.......
Eva took a long time to get to sleep last night, and then was awake throughout the night. The only thing to comfort her each time was milk and cuddles with Mommy. I can't see or feel any new teeth, that's when she lets me even get close to her mouth, but she also has a very sore bottom. Even at 5 o'clock this morning she was crying to be put back in her own bed. She did go back to sleep though, and I ended up waking her at 9.15 once I'd had my shower and seen to the cats, as we'd got stay and play at 10.
Again I ummed and arred about taking her out today, but she was actually very cheerful once she was up, washed, dressed and fed. I put her in the gorgeous little outfit Nanny bought for her. You can't see it properly in today's pic, but it has a little pink cat each side of the dress where you'd imagine little pockets to be. She looked adorable in it.
She loves stay and play. We met Jenny and Eva there, and my Eva took up her usual spot on the circle mat, and was reaching out for the wooden sensory blocks, the plastic bricks and the bottle shakers. The ladies who run it got the big coloured parachute out today, and all the toddlers were giggling and running under it as the ladies lifted it up and down and up and down. I took Eva over and first let her feel the breeze of it being wafted, then crouched down and sat her on my knee underneath it so she could see it above her head. Awwww she had such a big smile on her face as she clung onto me.
At snack time I only accepted some breadsticks on Eva's behalf and turned down the raisins (she'd never had them before as never would have been able to pick them up) but some raisins had got dropped onto the mat just in front of Eva, and she picked one up using her perfect little pincer grip, and put it straight into her mouth. So raisins will be going on this week's shopping list.
We got back, and she was shattered, so I gave her some milk and settled her for a sleep, but she was crying within half an hour, and then wasn't a very happy baby on and off for the rest of the day. I took her nappy off again and just let the air get to her poorly bottom whilst she had a roll around in her mat (at which point she did a big poo), no problem though, soon cleared up. I also gave her some calpol and one of the teething powders Jenny had very kindly given us to try. I didn't think she'd go for the teething powder, but there's only a bit in 1 dose, so I just poured it in while she was crying and her mouth was open, which took her by surprise. She seemed to quite like it. She was just very clingy and just wanted me right next to her, so I got down on the mat with her and played right next to her and kept giving her cuddles when she cried.
Eva had another little sleep later this afternoon, then came downstairs and ate about half of her dinner. A lot more than she has eaten the last few dinner times, so I was hoping that was a good sign re. her teeth.
I sang some made up songs to her in the bath (I always sing her made up songs), gave her some more calpol, then gave her a big long milk feed and snuggles, and she was tucked up in her bed by 8 pm. She cried out for about 1 minute, but then went straight to sleep with her num nums in her mouth and clutching snuggle bear. It's now 9.30 and she's not stirred yet, but I know she's not herself at the moment so I'm expecting her to wake up at some point soon.
I really hope she's feeling brighter soon xxxx
