The Wine Expert

This is Mike (and wife/assistant). They present wine classes each month at our local wine shop. Recent classes have been "The Pinot Grape", "American Wine History", and tonight's class "Blind Tasting". Using deductive techniques, Mike took us through the examination of appearance, nose, and palate, and clues to identifying regions and grape. Here we are checking for clarity, brightness, intensity, color, rim variation, and viscosity. The class is inexpensive and we get to taste some nice wines and learn more about what we are drinking.

Walking out of the shop is more expensive. We left with a nice Malbec from Argentina and a wonderful Zinfandel from Amodor County (east of Sacramento), California.
