Roll over Beethoven

He didn't manage it on grass either, not even with a slight downward slope. However he did enjoy the half roll knowing he wouldn't hurt himself again. Apart from the cuts looking a bit nasty, he seems to be much better today after a day of Aspirin and then a day of "bute", a painkiller and anti inflammatory drug that was feared in the recent horse meat scandal. Before being banned for human use, it used to be a drug used for gout (Nogbad). All our horses have their passports marked that on death, they are not to be used in the food chain and must be cremated. This allows one to administer all sorts of drugs that would otherwise not be allowed. However as we know when money is a factor anything can happen.

The other patient, Angie, had a slight setback today, feeling not too good in the morning but gradually got better during the day, perhaps it was the weather. It poured in the night, the fields full of big puddles all day but the sun and a bit of wind came out and will hopefully help it to dry out soon.

The English patient was busy shredding branches all day. Time consuming with little reward. A huge pile of branches ends up as a small pile of wood chips. We use them on paths the horses use to get to the fields. Would normally be good in the garden but the chickens scratch & spread them all over the place.

All downhill now to the weekend. We have a busy Saturday planned with a family gathering - Angie's Mum's birthday. Although taking place near us, Angie luckily hasn't got to do anything and I will make my notorious Black Forest Cherry Cake.
