Iconic Edinburgh Castle

OK, so this is the shot every tourist takes when visiting Edinburgh! Humans have occupied Castle Rock since the Iron Age (2nd Century AD) and there’s been a royal castle there since the 12th Century. Scotland’s history is inextricably tied up with this icon building, and it is Scotland’s most visited tourist attraction. The Castle buildings include St Margaret’s Chapel, regarded as the oldest building in Edinburgh and also dating from the 12th Century, the Royal Palace, the early 16th Century Great Hall, and a special strongroom containing the Scottish regalia, known as the Honours of Scotland. Various of the other Castle buildings house regimental museums. Everyone visiting Edinburgh takes his or her own version of this iconic scene. This is mine, taken in the very brief spell of sunshine we had today, and this is my journal! So I’m allowed!
