To Act as a Notary Public
This is not a job that I have to do very often now.
Someone will come to me with a document that they will then sign in my presence. I will then certify that the document has been properly executed by that person and that I know their identity.
Here you see me applying my official impressed seal to the document.
It sounds a bit of a performance I know, but one that foreign and european countries take seriously.
Most lawyers do this job in an office but I find the kitchen table to be quite satisfactory.
I was appointed by the then Governor of the Isle of Man to this office in 1986.
