Did you know?

1. Fuchsia excorticata has blue pollen - a very rare colour for pollen
2. The common name for the fuchsia is 'ladies' ear drops' because of their resemblance to ladies' earrings!
3. Fuchsia plants are frequent targets for garden pests such as spidermite and white fly.
4. The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola in about 1696–1697 by the French.
