Metal Statue

Every Sunday I drive up from Broxburn through Uphall as part of family catch up time and in since the spring I have noticed this large metal structure erected outside the cemetery (no jokes about it being the dead centre of the town, thanks) No-one seemed to know what it was about so I stopped by this evening to see if there was any signage or label but couldn’t find anything. The Interweb is, however your friend, and it is a representation of the plants found on the local ‘bings’ and is a commemoration of the workers involved in the local shale oil mining.
