Mushroom

I saw this and instantly knew it was an opportunity to Blip. I loved the colour, the textures, the shapes and the light here. It is not often that my eye and my mind agree on a subject but today was the day!!!

The hour is late, I am tired and feeling totally achy. It is cold and I am fighting the sleep that is trying to take my weary soul. I have a pile of preparation for uni for tomorrow night but for once I am not even going to attempt it, I feel dreadful not doing so I am so very tired.

When I see mushrooms like this I think of my friend, strange I hear you thinking, and maybe so. Why would fungi remind me of someone so dear to me, simple, stationary. I know you are intrigued but there is no mystery just a lifetime of memories, The truth is that when we were young the stationary employed by my friend was Fungus The Bogeyman. Not the gentle stationary but it mattered not, the words on the page were were beautiful, meaningful and heartfelt radiating a warmth that only those very special can exude.

The words still pass between us, electronically these days but I still think fondly and often of those days when a letter was a treasure, always exciting to receive, something special to be read and re-read carefully folded and kept precious. Texts are amazing, instant, direct and welcoming and can be read and-re-read in a similar fashion but they lack the tangibility of paper, that feel and presence, anyway enough rambling...

I hope you enjoy the shot, the shapes, colours, textures and most of all the light.
